She faithfully served in our weekly Bible study at a local assisted living community until COVID changed all that. The people who attended loved the Lord, HIs Word, and singing hymns! Nancy is the keeper of the lyrics for all the hymns we sing! We continue to minister to the residents with weekly cards, devotionals and letters. “When I finish writing and delivering my correspondence to the facility, I feel the Lord’s assurance that He still has a place for me to share His love, HIs Word, and His compassion. I think initially the caregiver does more cleaning and shopping, but I think they are making some adjustments in what they are going to have her do. My parents are pretty independent and able to plan their day, mentally. So, they are making some adjustments in what they feel is the best use of time.

Words cannot fully express my gratitude for Home Instead care. In addition to being mindful of my mother, they are also supportive of the non-traditional relationship. The caregivers we have had and currently have enabled my mother to remain in her home.
The people they send are almost less healthy then the person they are sent to help. Old, crippled, and out of shape to do basic housekeeping. Kelsey, the gal they sent yesterday could not follow simple instructions like “bring the dirty towels up from the downstairs bathroom”, much less clean the bathroom.

Trust me it really speaks to us who have hurting backs, legs, knees, feet - whatever! Keep up the Lord's work and my thanks to all involved. I encourage you to partner with Koinonia Senior Care and help make a difference in the lives of those who have made a difference in all of our lives. Partners with pastors to lighten their load with tools and training for the congregation so they can confidently reach out and more deeply serve their homebound senior population. Please reach out to your local Home Instead® office to review the range of services that may be offered. My folks have spent over 50 years in the house in Topeka, and it's been their pride and joy -- landscaped to perfection and neat as a pin. But it's different now that Dad's in a wheelchair.
They are upbeat, and provide companionship to someone isolated by dementia and lack of mobility. They treat my mother as if she were their own. In addition to shopping, laundry, house keeping, bathing and meal preparation, they are mindful of health changes that might require medical intervention. Keeps the client as well as the client's family in mind when modifications need to be made to the original care plan. When caring for my grandparents in the late 1980s, I couldn't even have dreamed that a company like Home Instead could have existed. What a blessing it would have been at that time.
Mom has handled the change with her usual grace. She takes care of him, just like she did for us, fixing his favorite meals, lovingly tying his shoes and smoothing his hair ... They really want to stay in the house they've shared for so long, but there's so much for mom to do.
They have been the foundation, the constant source of encouragement, wisdom and love to those who call them by the coveted title “grandparent”. They have done so much for their families, for our communities, our world and our churches. Your review has been received and will be reviewed by our staff.

Caregivers do not follow established COVID protocol. The fellowship we as caregivers and volunteers have through KSC is very precious. It has been my pleasure and joy to design a cookbook, scrapbook and cartoon album for my senior friends. I drive Ms. Evelyn to various doctor appointments and errands. Following Jesus and serving Him is my happy place. Born and raised in Indiana, God transplanted me, along with my husband Matthew, in Wichita, KS during the fall of 1997.
It is here we have bloomed where God has planted us and we have spent the majority of our married life. It is here that God blessed us with a set of twins through adoption in 2005. Walter and Dorothy are now 17 years old and going to be seniors this fall. I enjoy walking, reading, family time, and traveling.
They do a great job of qualifying and training the caregivers and matching them to me. I am very pleased with the professionalism of all the staff members. I was pleasantly surprised when a staff member introduced our caregiver on their just day of service. I am currently using Home Instead and would recommend their services to others. Thank you Home Instead for my peace of mind while I am at work as you care for my mother. Within a few weeks, they were able to give us a caregiver match.
